Low Frequency Tilt Seismology with a Precision Ground Rotation Sensor
M. P. Ross, K. Venkateswara, C. A. Hagedorn +7
We describe measurements of the rotational component of teleseismic surface waves using an inertial high-precision ground-rotation-sensor installed at the LIGO Hanford Observatory…
Control strategy to limit duty cycle impact of earthquakes on the LIGO gravitational-wave detectors
S. Biscans, J. Warner, R. Mittleman +12
Advanced gravitational-wave detectors such as the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatories (LIGO) require an unprecedented level of isolation from the ground. When in…
Effects of transients in LIGO suspensions on searches for gravitational waves
M. Walker, T. D. Abbott, S. M. Aston +200
This paper presents an analysis of the transient behavior of the Advanced LIGO suspensions used to seismically isolate the optics. We have characterized the transients in the longi…
Quantum correlation measurements in interferometric gravitational wave detectors
D. V. Martynov, V. V. Frolov, S. Kandhasamy +199
Quantum fluctuations in the phase and amplitude quadratures of light set limitations on the sensitivity of modern optical instruments. The sensitivity of the interferometric gravit…
