Spectral classification
J. Maíz Apellániz, I. Negueruela, J. A. Caballero
Spectral classification is the division of stars into classes based on their spectral characteristics. Different classification systems have existed since the 19th century but the…
The IACOB project XII. A new grid of northern standards for the spectral classification of B-type stars
Ignacio Negueruela, Sergio Simón-Díaz, Abel de Burgos +2
With the advent of large spectroscopic surveys, automated stellar parameter determination has become commonplace. Nevertheless, spectral classification still offers a quick and use…
The massive multiple system HD 64315
J. Lorenzo, S. Simon-Diaz, I. Negueruela +4
The O6 Vn star HD 64315 is believed to belong to the star-forming region known as NGC 2467, but previous distance estimates do not support this association. We explore the multiple…
Astrophysical parameters and orbital solution of the peculiar X-ray transient IGR J00370+6122
A. González-Galán, I. Negueruela, N. Castro +3
BD+6073 is the optical counterpart of the X-ray source IGR J00370+6122, a probable accretion-powered X-ray pulsar. The X-ray light curve of this binary system shows clear periodici…
