On the Lefschetz Standard Conjecture

Abstract
The subject of the present paper is Grothendieck's Lefschetz standard conjecture . Our main result is that, if is a projective smooth variety of dimension and the conjecture holds for the generic fibre (of dimension over the field ) of a suitable Lefschetz fibration of , then the operator is algebraic. If in addition is algebraic, then is settled. Along the way we establish the algebraicity of the K\" unneth projectors for under the above hypotheses.
