Abstract

Let be a simply connected pointed space with finitely generated homotopy groups. Let denote the set of all continuous maps taking to the basepoint. For , let be its homotopy class. For an open set , let be the set of all continuous maps taking to the basepoint. For a cover of , let be the set of all unions of at most elements of . Put . We prove that for any finite open cover of there exist maps , , such that for all .
