Abstract
Let be an indefinite ternary quadratic form, and let be an integer such that is not a square. Let denote the number of integral solutions of the equation where lies in the ball of radius centered at the origin. We are interested in the asymptotic behavior of as tends to infinity. We deduce from the results of our joint paper with Z. Rudnick that grows like cE(T,f,q)TE(T,f,q)0 \le c \le 2fqc$ takes the values 0, 1, 2.
