Abstract
The measurements of inclusive charm and beauty cross sections in deep-inelastic scattering collisions at HERA are compared with the predictions of perturbative quantum chromodynamics from the CTEQ and MRST fitting groups, employing a range of theoretical schemes. The differences in the theoretical predictions are discussed and the theoretical uncertainties investigated.
