Bound states in a locally deformed waveguide: the critical case
arXiv:funct-an/9601002
Abstract
We consider the Dirichlet Laplacian for a strip in with one straight boundary and a width , where is a smooth function of a compact support with a length . We show that in the critical case, , the operator has no bound states for small if . On the other hand, a weakly bound state exists provided ; in that case there are positive such that the corresponding eigenvalue satisfies for all sufficiently small.
