arXiv:astro-ph/9904251 · doi:10.1086/316369
Abstract
The history of the discovery of dark matter in the Universe is briefly reviewed. Special emphasis is placed on the early work by Zwicky (1933), Smith (1936), Babcock (1939) and Oort (1940).
Will be published in the June 1999 issue of PASP
