Abstract
Given graphs and , the induced Ramsey number is the smallest integer for which there exists a graph on vertices such that every red-blue colouring of contains either a blue induced copy of or a red induced copy of . A conjecture of Kohayakawa, Prömel and Rödl asserts that, for every fixed graph , this number is polynomial in . We prove this conjecture, showing that there is an absolute constant such that for all graphs and . The proof combines a variant of a random geometric construction of Kohayakawa, Prömel and Rödl with the hypergraph container method.
