Weak Cosmic Censorship in Einstein-Born-Infeld Black Hole: A Parameter-Space Analysis

Abstract
Einstein-Born-Infeld is a charged black hole solution of general relativity with Born-Infeld nonlinear electrodynamics, which has interesting physical features. It violates Bekenstein's entropy upper bound, and it can overcharge with respect to the Reissner-Nordström black hole. It presents an optimum situation to test the cosmic censorship conjecture, which is another important conjecture in black hole physics. In principle, this analysis requires the calculation of the self-energy of a test particle in the vicinity of the black hole, which, in general, is not feasible because of the electromagnetic nonlinearities. In this work, we propose an alternative approach that allows us to explore the whole parameter space of the Einstein-Born-Infeld black hole and test the validity of the cosmic censorship conjecture.
