Abstract
For a graph , its extremal number and extremal graphs denote the maximum number of edges in -free graphs and the graphs attaining this maximum, respectively. Let be the minimum number of copies of in an -vertex graph with edges, and let denote the corresponding minimum obtained by adding edges to an extremal graph. Mubayi (2013) conjectured that for every non--partite stable -uniform hypergraph with , holds for all sufficiently large and all integers . In this paper, we prove that Mubayi's conjecture fails in a stronger sense. For every integer , we construct a family of non--partite stable graphs such that for all . In particular, these examplesis completely refute Mubayi's conjecture. \noindent\emph{Key words}: extremal graph; supersaturation; chromatic number.
