A note on tomography of states with low stabilizer rank
arXiv:2610.03658
Abstract
In this note, we consider tomography of -qubit quantum states that are promised to have stabilizer rank i.e., admit a stabilizer decomposition of where each is a stabilizer state. We give a tomography protocol for such states up to trace distance running in time and thus can handle efficiently. This follows from first showing that the stabilizer extent , which is the minimal norm over the coefficients of any stabilizer decomposition of , can be bounded as and improving upon the previous best bound of . The protocol is then obtained by utilizing a tomography protocol for states with bounded stabilizer extent.
