Abstract

For a graph with , let denote the least integer such that every edge weighting admits a copy of whose edge weights sum to zero. We prove that every -vertex graph with and satisfies . Moreover, the stronger bound holds whenever contains an induced or an induced . Consequently, we resolve a problem posed by Caro and Mifsud: every graph with satisfies , with equality if and only if .
