Basic Reproduction Ratios for Almost Periodic Non-Densely Defined Cauchy Problems

Abstract

The theory of the basic reproduction ratio $R_0$ is established for the almost periodic non-densely defined Cauchy problems. Firstly, we present some dynamical properties of the linear almost periodic non-densely defined Cauchy problems. Then we define the evolution semigroups on the space of almost periodic functions, investigate their infinitesimal generators and define the basic reproduction ratio $R_0$. Finally, our developed theory is applied to age-structured models and functional differential systems.
