Abstract

In this work, the mass and decay properties for low-lying orbital excitations of baryons are investigated within the chiral quark model combined with the decay mechanism. Following the LHCb Collaboration's observations, we extend our previous study of the system to the system, with all model parameters inherited from our earlier work. Our results consistently describe the observed spectrum: , , , and are well described as -mode states with , , , and , respectively. cannot be described as a pure three-quark excitation. Furthermore, the and may be assigned to the and states, respectively. These results offer a coherent picture of the low-lying spectrum and motivate further experimental tests.
