Increase of Magnetic Trap Loading Efficiency for Bose--Einstein Condensation Experiments

arXiv:2609.08208

Abstract

During the experimental sequence, a large atom number is important for the creation of high-quality Bose--Einstein condensates. We report an experimental increase of about 15% in magnetic-trap (MT) loading efficiency by optimizing the MT loading process. The loading time is much shorter than the lifetime of the atoms in the MT, which means atom loss during loading due to the finite trap lifetime can be neglected. We obtain an almost pure condensate with atoms after evaporative cooling in our optical trap.
