$K_2$-regularity is equivalent to smoothness for toric varieties

Abstract

Recent work by Wanchun Shen shows that $K_2$-regular affine local complete intersections of any dimension in characteristic zero are smooth. In this note, we show that the same holds for affine toric varieties.
