Abstract

For a finite group , denote by and the number of conjugacy classes of subgroups and the subgroup lattice of , respectively. Let and be the minimum value of , when runs through all sections of . In this paper we deduce some criteria on the nature of . We show that if , then is solvable, while if , then is a supersolvable group. The last criterion is also valid when replacing ``supersolvable" with ``CLT".
