Abstract

A subspace of is called cyclically covering if the union of can cover the whole space , where is the cyclic shift, . Let be the largest possible co-dimension of a cyclically covering subspace of . We show that for every prime such that is a primitive root modulo . By constacyclic codes, we show that when and . We also derive a lower bound on by the concept of support weight distribution, which is important in coding theory. Finally, using irreducible cyclic codes, we present several families of such that .
