The authors measured the γd → K⁰Λp reaction with the LEPS2 spectrometer and observed a localized enhancement below the K⁻pp threshold, which they interpret as evidence for a K̄NN quasi‑bound state with a statistical significance of 7.3σ.
Abstract
The reaction has been studied to search for a quasi-bound state using the LEPS2 solenoid spectrometer at SPring-8. A localized enhancement concentrated at low is observed in the distribution below the mass threshold, where is the invariant mass and is the momentum transfer. A two-dimensional fit demonstrates that the enhancement near the threshold is statistically significant, yielding a local significance of . The enhancement is characterized by effective shape parameters including the Breit--Wigner mass and width , and a Gaussian form-factor momentum scale : , , and . The obtained results support the existence of a quasi-bound state in photoproduction.
