Rational Points on Danielewski Surfaces over Finite fields and Polygonal Numbers

Abstract

We study the number of ${\mathbb{F}}_q$-rational points on Danielewski and double Danielewski surfaces over the finite field ${\mathbb{F}}_q$ and show an interesting connection with the polygonal numbers.
