Abstract
Does have a friend? Until now, this has been an open question. In this note, we prove that a potential friend of is an odd, non-square positive integer. appears in the prime factorization of with an even exponent while at most two prime divisors of can have odd exponents in the prime factorization of . If such that is congruent to modulo , then , for some positive integer . Further, no prime divisor of has an exponent congruent to modulo and no prime divisor can exceed . The primes cannot appear simultaneously in the prime factorization of . If or , then , otherwise .
