Spectral Gaps for Jacobi Matrices on Graphs

Abstract

We study bounds on eigenvalue gaps for finite quotients of periodic Jacobi matrices on trees. We prove an Alon-Boppana type bound for the spectral gap and a comparison result for other eigenvalue gaps.
