Abstract
Using elementary methods of algebraic geometry, we present constructions of hyperelliptically fibred surfaces containing nodal fibres.
This is an elementary text suitable for a minicourse on hyperelliptic fibrations. Following an observation of F. Polizzi, we have made a correction on the last section. To appear in Annali dell'Università di Ferrara
