The Schinzel-Szekeres function

Abstract

We derive asymptotic estimates for distribution functions related to the Schinzel-Szekeres function. These results are then used in three different applications: the longest simple path in the divisor graph, a problem of Erdős about a sum of reciprocals, and the small sieve of Erdős and Ruzsa.
