Abstract

In this semi-expository short note, we prove that the only homogeneous \textit{pure} hyponormal operator $T$ with $\mathrm{rank}(T^{\ast }T-T{T}^{\ast })=1$, modulo unitary equivalence, is the unilateral shift.
