Search for baryon and lepton number violating decays $D^0\to \bar{p}{e}^{+}$ and $D^0\to p{e}^{-}$

Abstract

Using an electron-positron collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93~fb${}^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, we search for the baryon and lepton number violating decays $D^0\to \bar{p}{e}^{+}$ and $D^0\to p{e}^{-}$. No obvious signals are found with the current statistics. The upper limits on the branching fractions for $D^0\to \bar{p}{e}^{+}$ and $D^0\to p{e}^{-}$ are set to be $1.2\times 10^{-6}$ and $2.2\times 10^{-6}$ at 90\% confidence level, respectively.
