Abstract

This paper consists of three parts: First, letting , , and be nonzero polynomials such that and have the same degree and distinct leading coefficients and , respectively, we solve entire solutions of the Tumura--Clunie type differential equation , where is an integer, is a differential polynomial in of degree with coefficients having polynomial growth. Second, we study the oscillation of the second-order differential equation and prove that for some integer if this equation admits a nontrivial solution such that . This partially answers a question of Ishizaki. Finally, letting and be constants and and be relatively prime integers such that , we prove that if the equation admits two linearly independent solutions and such that . In particular, we precisely characterize all solutions such that when and .
