The Łojasiewicz exponent in non-degenerate deformations of surface singularities

Abstract

We prove the constancy of the Łojasiewicz exponent in non-degenerate $\mu$-constant deformations of surface singularities. This is a positive answer to a question posed by B. Teissier.
