Test of Einstein's Equivalence Principle by Galactic Dark Matter

arXiv:1808.09925

Abstract

We report here the results of operation of a torsion balance with a period of s. The analysis of data collected over a period of 115 days shows that the difference in the accelerations towards the Galactic Center of test bodies made of aluminum and quartz was . This sets a bound on the violation of the equivalence principle by forces exerted by Galactic dark matter which is expressed by the Eötvös parameter , a significant improvement upon earlier bounds.

I was carefully reviewing the data analysis procedure adopted in our paper "Test of Einstein's Equivalence Principle by Galactic Dark Matter" submitted on February 15, 2019. I have just noticed a subtle error in the analysis. It is sufficiently serious that with great regret I am compelled to withdraw the paper from arXiv
