arXiv:1802.07236

Abstract

Let be a complete, simply connected harmonic manifold with sectional curvatures satisfying , and let denote the boundary at infinity of . Let denote the mean curvature of horospheres in , and let . Fixing a basepoint , for , let denote the Busemann function at such that , then for the function is an eigenfunction of the Laplace-Beltrami operator with eigenvalue . For a function on , we define the Fourier transform of by for all for which the integral converges. We prove a Fourier inversion formula for , where is a certain function on , is the visibility measure on with respect to the basepoint and is a constant. We also prove a Plancherel theorem. This generalizes the corresponding results for rank one symmetric spaces of noncompact type and negatively curved harmonic groups (or Damek-Ricci spaces).
