Superconductivity in the ternary compound SrPtP with complex new structure

arXiv:1712.02010

Abstract

We report superconductivity at 1.4K in the ternary SrPtP with a complex new structure. SrPtP crystallizes in a monoclinic space-group C2/c (\#15) with lattice parameters a= 22.9151(9), b= 13.1664(5), c=13.4131(5), and = 90.0270(5). Bulk superconductivity in the samples has been demonstrated through resistivity, ac susceptibility, and heat capacity measurements. High pressure measurements have shown that the superconducting T is systematically suppressed upon application of pressure, with a dT/dP coefficient of -0.016 K/GPa.
