Measurement of the shape of the $\hat{I}{›}_b^0\to \hat{I}{›}_c^{+}\hat{I}{¼}^{-}\overline{\hat{I}}½$ differential decay rate

Abstract

A measurement of the shape of the differential decay rate and the associated Isgur-Wise function for the decay $\hat{I}{›}_b^0\to \hat{I}{›}_c^{+}\hat{I}{¼}^{-}\overline{\hat{I}}½$ is reported, using data corresponding to $3f{b}^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions. The $\hat{I}{›}_c^{+}\hat{I}{¼}^{-}\overline{\hat{I}}½$(+ anything) final states are reconstructed through the detection of a muon and a $\hat{I}{›}_c^{+}$ baryon decaying into $p{K}^{-}\ddot{I}{€}^{+}$, and the decays $\hat{I}{›}_b^0\to \hat{I}{›}_c^{+}\ddot{I}{€}^{+}\ddot{I}{€}^{-}\hat{I}{¼}^{-}\overline{\hat{I}}½$ are used to determine contributions from $\hat{I}{›}_b^0\to \hat{I}{›}_c^{\star +}\hat{I}{¼}^{-}\bar{\hat{I}}½$ decays. The measured dependence of the differential decay rate upon the squared four-momentum transfer between the heavy baryons, $q^2$, is compared with expectations from heavy-quark effective theory and from unquenched lattice QCD predictions.
