Investigation of production cross sections, using stacked targets at the 88" Cyclotron with focus on ${}^{\mathrm{nat}}\mathrm{Fe}(\mathrm{p},\mathrm{x}{)}^{51}\mathrm{Mn}$

Abstract

With the investigation of the production cross section of ${}^{51}\mathrm{Mn}$ off of ${}^{\mathrm{nat}}\mathrm{Fe}$ in mind, two stacked target experiments were conducted at the Berkeley Lab 88-Inch Cyclotron. Proton beams with energies of $25$ and $55\mathrm{MeV}$ result in a total of 14 data points for various reactions. Gamma spectra of the activated foils were taken and analyzed, then cross sections calculated.
