Quantum String Test of Nonconformal Holography

Abstract

We compute Lüscher corrections to the effective string tension in the Pilch-Warner background, holographically dual to $\mathcal{N}=2^{\ast }$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. The same quantity can be calculated directly from field theory by solving the localization matrix model at large-$N$. We find complete agreement between the field-theory predictions and explicit string-theory calculation at strong coupling.
