Inequalities of Levin-Stečkin, Clausing and Chebyshev revisited

Abstract

We prove the Levin-Stečkin inequality using Chebyshev's inequality and symmetrization. Symmetry and slightly modified Chebyshev's inequality are also the key to an elementary proof of Clausing's inequality .
