Some questions on subgroups of 3-dimensional Poincaré duality groups

Abstract

We state a number of open questions on 3-dimensional Poincaré duality groups and their subgroups, motivated by considerations from 3-manifold topology.

This paper had a low-key existence on my University of Sydney web page. As I am now retired, I decided to make it more accessible through the arXiv. In v2, we have updated this material, and added the content of a 2018 Luminy conference {]\it Structure of 3-Manifold Groups}. In v3, the title has been corrected, and other minor improvements made
