Influence of external temperature gradient on acoustoelectric current in graphene

Abstract
Recent analyses of thermoelectric amplification of acoustic phonons in Free-Standing Graphene (FSG) have prompted the theoretical study of the influence of external temperature gradient () on the acoustoelectric current in FSG. Here, we calculated thermal field on open circuit () to be . We then calculated acoustoelectric current ()to be for , which is comparable to that obtained in semiconductors (), the thermal-voltage to be and the Seebeck coefficient as . Graphs of the normalized versus , and were sketched. For on for varying , Negative Difference Conductivity (NDC) () was observed in the material. This indicates graphene is a suitable material for developing thermal amplifiers and logic gates.
