The motive of a smooth Theta divisor

Abstract

We prove a motivic version of the Lefschetz hyperplane theorem for a smooth ample divisor $\Theta$ on an Abelian variety. We use this to construct a motive $P$ that realizes the primitive cohomology of $\Theta$.
