Competition of ${\hat{I}}^2$-delayed protons and ${\hat{I}}^2$-delayed ${\hat{I}}^3$ rays in ${}^{56}$Zn and the exotic ${\hat{I}}^2$-delayed ${\hat{I}}^3$-proton decay

Abstract

Remarkable results have been published recently on the ${\hat{I}}^2$ decay of ${}^{56}$Zn. In particular, the rare and exotic ${\hat{I}}^2$-delayed ${\hat{I}}^3$-proton emission has been detected for the first time in the $fp$ shell. Here we focus the discussion on this exotic decay mode and on the observed competition between ${\hat{I}}^2$-delayed protons and ${\hat{I}}^2$-delayed ${\hat{I}}^3$ rays from the Isobaric Analogue State.
