arXiv:1510.04489

Abstract

We introduce the design of a set of code sequences , with memory order and code-length , where is the largest real root of the polynomial equation and is decreasing in . is based on the channel polarization idea, where coincides with the polar codes presented by Arıkan and can be encoded and decoded with complexity . achieves the symmetric capacity, , of an arbitrary binary-input, discrete-output memoryless channel, , for any fixed and its encoding and decoding complexities decrease with growing . We obtain an achievable bound on the probability of block-decoding error, , of and showed that is achievable for .
