Study of photon reconstruction efficiency using $B^{+}\to J/\psi K^{(\ast )+}$ decays in the LHCb experiment

Abstract

The reconstruction efficiency of photons and neutral pions is measured using the relative yields of reconstructed $B^{+}\to J/\psi K^{\ast +}(\to K^{+}{\pi }^0)$ and $B^{+}\to J/\psi K^{+}$ decays. The efficiency is studied using the data set, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3{\mathrm{fb}}^{-1}$, collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at the centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV.
