Asymptotics of generalised trinomial coefficients

Abstract

It is shown how to obtain an asymptotic expansion of the generalised central trinomial coefficient $[x^n](x^2+bx+c{)}^n$ by means of singularity analysis, thus proving a conjecture of Zhi-Wei Sun.
