Abstract
Given a rational and nonnegative -dimensional real vectors , ..., , we show that it is always possible to choose of them such that their sum is (componentwise) at least . For fixed and , this bound is sharp if is large enough. The method of the proof uses Carathéodory's theorem from linear programming.
