Photoproduction of $\hat{I}\cdot$ and $\hat{I}\cdot \prime$ Mesons off Protons

Abstract

Total and differential cross sections for $\hat{I}\cdot$ and $\hat{I}{\cdot }^{\prime }$ photoproduction off the proton have been determined with the CBELSA/TAPS detector for photon energies between 0.85 and 2.55 GeV. The $\hat{I}\cdot$ mesons are detected in their two neutral decay modes, $\hat{I}\cdot \to {\hat{I}}^3{\hat{I}}^3$ and $\hat{I}\cdot \to 3\ddot{I}{€}^0\to 6{\hat{I}}^3$, and for the first time, cover the full angular range in $\cos \hat{\mathrm{I}}{¸}_{\mathrm{cm}}$ of the $\hat{I}\cdot$ meson. These new $\hat{I}\cdot$ photoproduction data are consistent with the earlier CB-ELSA results. The $\hat{I}{\cdot }^{\prime }$ mesons are observed in their neutral decay to $\ddot{I}{€}^0\ddot{I}{€}^0\hat{I}\cdot \to 6{\hat{I}}^3$ and also extend the coverage in angular range.
