Proper holomorphic mappings of the spectral unit ball

Abstract

We prove an Alexander type theorem for the spectral unit ball ${\Omega }_n$ showing that there are no non-trivial proper holomorphic mappings in ${\Omega }_n$, $n\ge 2$.
