Equilibration of Multitime Quantum Processes in Finite Time Intervals
Neil Dowling, Pedro Figueroa-Romero, Felix A. Pollock +2
A generic non-integrable (unitary) out-of-equilibrium quantum process, when interrogated across many times, is shown to yield the same statistics as an (non-unitary) equilibrated p…
Relaxation of Multitime Statistics in Quantum Systems
Neil Dowling, Pedro Figueroa-Romero, Felix A. Pollock +2
Equilibrium statistical mechanics provides powerful tools to understand physics at the macroscale. Yet, the question remains how this can be justified based on a microscopic quantu…
Randomized benchmarking for non-Markovian noise
Pedro Figueroa-Romero, Kavan Modi, Thomas M. Stace +1
Estimating the features of noise is the first step in a chain of protocols that will someday lead to fault tolerant quantum computers. The randomized benchmarking (RB) protocol is…
Quantum Optimization for Training Quantum Neural Networks
Yidong Liao, Min-Hsiu Hsieh, Chris Ferrie
Training quantum neural networks (QNNs) using gradient-based or gradient-free classical optimisation approaches is severely impacted by the presence of barren plateaus in the cost…
