Gaia Data Release 2. Summary of the contents and survey properties
Gaia Collaboration, A. G. A. Brown, A. Vallenari +4
We present the second Gaia data release, Gaia DR2, consisting of astrometry, photometry, radial velocities, and information on astrophysical parameters and variability, for sources…
Gaia Data Release 2: Mapping the Milky Way disc kinematics
Gaia Collaboration, D. Katz, T. Antoja +12
To illustrate the potential of GDR2, we provide a first look at the kinematics of the Milky Way disc, within a radius of several kiloparsecs around the Sun. We benefit for the firs…
Gaia Data Release 2: The Celestial reference frame (Gaia-CRF2)
F. Mignard, S. Klioner, L. Lindegren +3
The second release of Gaia data (Gaia DR2) contains the astrometric parameters for more than half a million quasars. This set defines a kinematically non-rotating reference frame i…
Gaia Data Release 2: Kinematics of globular clusters and dwarf galaxies around the Milky Way
Gaia Collaboration, A. Helmi, F. van Leeuwen +7
The goal of this paper is to demonstrate the outstanding quality of the second data release of the Gaia mission and its power for constraining many different aspects of the dynamic…
