Low-energy scattering in lattice QCD

arXiv:2502.07438

summary

The authors perform the first lattice QCD study of low‑energy DD scattering in the I(J^P)=1(0^+) and 0(1^-) channels, extracting scattering lengths and effective ranges using Lüscher’s finite‑volume method.

Abstract

We present the first lattice QCD calculation of single-channel scattering with quantum numbers and . The calculation is performed on the flavor Wilson-Clover ensembles with a lattice spacing fm and two different pion masses, and MeV. The scattering parameters are determined using the Lüscher's finite volume method. Our results indicate a weak repulsive interaction in the channel and a slightly attractive interaction in the channel. The -wave isovector scattering length and effective range, extrapolated to the physical pion mass, are fm and fm, respectively.
