Study of open-charm decays and radiative transitions of the X(3872)

Abstract

The processes $X(3872)\to D^{\ast 0}\overline{D^0}+c.c.,{\hat{I}}^{3}J/\ddot{I}ˆ,{\hat{I}}^3\ddot{I}ˆ(2S),$ and ${\hat{I}}^3{D}^{+}{D}^{-}$ are searched for in a $9.0\mathrm{f}{\mathrm{b}}^{-1}$ data sample collected at center-of-mass energies between $4.178$ and $4.278$ GeV with the BESIII detector. We observe $X(3872)\to D^{\ast 0}\overline{D^0}+c.c.$ and find evidence for $X(3872)\to {\hat{I}}^{3}J/\ddot{I}ˆ$ with statistical significances of $7.4\ddot{I}ƒ$ and $3.5\ddot{I}ƒ$, respectively. No evident signals for $X(3872)\to {\hat{I}}^3\ddot{I}ˆ(2S)$ and ${\hat{I}}^3{D}^{+}{D}^{-}$ are found, and upper limit on the relative branching ratio $R_{{\hat{I}}^3\ddot{I}ˆ}\equiv \frac{\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\to {\hat{I}}^3\ddot{I}ˆ(2S))}{\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\to {\hat{I}}^{3}J/\ddot{I}ˆ)}<0.59$ is set at 90$\%$ confidence level. Measurements of branching ratios relative to decay $X(3872)\to \ddot{I}{€}^{+}\ddot{I}{€}^{-}J/\ddot{I}ˆ$ are also reported for decays $X(3872)\to D^{\ast 0}\overline{D^0}+c.c.,{\hat{I}}^3\ddot{I}ˆ(2S),{\hat{I}}^{3}J/\ddot{I}ˆ$, ${\hat{I}}^3{D}^{+}{D}^{-}$, as well as the non-$D^{\ast 0}{\bar{D}}^0$ three-body decays $\ddot{I}{€}^0{D}^0{\bar{D}}^0$ and ${\hat{I}}^3{D}^0{\bar{D}}^0$.
